Program Title: Jahaji Bhai and Songs of Malabarise
Description: Suresh Pillai is an independent documentary film maker based in Ernakulam, Kerala and New Delhi in India. He has also worked as a reporter, web developer and analyst in media since 1989, and has also developed community museums, curated art exhibitions and organized cultural programmes on the Indian Diaspora since 2004. Some of his important works include documentary film series and books on the Indian Diaspora in the Caribbean and Roma (Gypsies).

In this interview we speak about two of his documentaries:
"Jahaji Bhai" (English): a 50 minute video on history of Indian indentured migration in Guyana and Trinidad made in 2001-2

"Songs of Malabarise" (Dutch/French): on Indian culture in French Caribbean islands of Guadeloupe and Martinique
