Description: NFR salutes Newfoundland & Labrador’s recording artists of yesteryear who were recognized for their lifetime achievements in 2021.

Jim Payne topped the list with two awards: The NL Folk Arts Society’s Lifetime Achievement Award, and MusicNL’s Denis Parker Industry Builder Award.

Other recipients include Wayne Chaulk, Ray Johnson, and Kevin Blackmore better known as Buddy Wasisname & The Other Fellers. Plus a band that’s been performing for over 40 years, The Flummies of Labrador. Other honourees include Kelly Russell and Denis Ryan.

On a sad note, we doff our caps and reflect on the career of the multi-talented Bryan Hennessey who passed away last year.
