Title: Ecuadorian Perspectives/Perspectivas Ecuatorianas

Description: While I'm working in Ecuador with the Latin American News Agency (ALAI), I will be recording interviews on an ongoing basis with people who are active within the social and indigenous movements here in order to gain their perspectives on the recent election of President Rafael Correa, the establishment of a Plurinational Constituent Assembly and the ongoing struggles that people are facing in order to make a better life for their communities here.

This is my own individual initiative rather than that of ALAI, but I certainly anticipate that I will be influenced by their tremendous experience as journalists working closely with social movements in Latin America over the last 30 years.

Mientras estoy trabajando en Ecuador en la Agencia Latinoamericana de Información (ALAI), voy a grabar entrevistas poco a poco con protagonistas de los movimientos sociales y indígenas sobre sus perspectivas alrededor de las elecciones recientes de Presidente Rafael Correa, la construcción de una Asamblea Plurinacional Constituyente, y sus luchas diarias para mejorar la vida en sus comunidades acá.

Este es mi propio proyecto y no lo de la agencia, pero imagino que me influirá bastante la experiencia profunda que tiene el equipo de periodistas en la oficina cual ha estado colaborando con los movimientos sociales en América Latina por treinta años hasta ahora.
