Computer Networking

The NCRA supports three internet-based listserves. Ncra-info is for general discussion and information exchange on issues relating to campus-community radio. Ncramembersonly is for comunication regarding the business of the association and is restricted to members of the NCRA. Ncra-music allows music directors to discuss music and servicing related issues.

If you want to keep up-to-date on what is happening in campus/community radio then you need to be to at least be on ncra-info. Subscribing to the listserves is easy. Get connected!!

ncra@ - There is a general discussion list (and a must!) for sharing ideas and information relevant to the campus and community radio sector. This list is open to everyone.

ncramembers@ - This list is for communication regarding the business of the association and is restricted to members of the NCRA/ANREC.

ncramusic@ - This list allows music directors to discuss music and servicing related issues.

ncranews@ - An easy way to share information, ideas, and content

ncrawomen@ - As the name implies, this is a list for the women of our sector for the purposes of sharing information and ideas, as well as an easy means for communication for women working on both the annual "Women in Radio Conference" and our new project "Women's Hands and Voices".

ncrapacific@ - While the NCRA/ANREC works with campus and community radio on a national level, there projects being worked on and information being shared on a regional level.

We also have other lists that are used for other projects to help members communicate with ease.

awareness@ - We are beginning to plan a "c/c awareness campaign" aimed at universities, student unions, and communities. Check back at ncra.ca in the future for more information as this project develops.

books@ - As awareness grows about campus and community radio, so does the rise in students writing papers or journalists doing in-depth exposés. The NCRA/ANREC is currently planning to release its first publication compiling works about the sector. This is another project to check back for more information.
