Introduction

As a federally regulated industry, Broadcasting, including Campus/Community radio, falls under the jurisdiction of the Canada Labour Code and the Labour Standards established by it. It is important to realize that these regulations, more so than provincial regulations, are what define the working and employment relationships that exist in campus/community radio. Radio stations may also be subject to provincial labour legislation.

The following Labour Standards information pages summarize the basic information contained in Part III of the Canada Labour Code. This information is also available in hard copy as pamphlets which are available from Human Resources and Skills Development Canada. Each pamphlet is numbered within the title section and this number may be used to order a copy of the pamphlet from your nearest HRSDC Regional Office.

While these pamphlets provide basic information , they are not intended to replace the actual reading of Part III of the Canada Labour Code.
