Comments: First of a two-hour presentation on the political uprising in Ukraine called Euromaidan, protesting Russian interference in the country's bid for integration into the EU. What started out as a peaceful and shortlived protest by a handful of students and activists turned into a bloodbath as the authorities crack down brutally on the protesters in an effort to retain political power. Part 1 includes an overview and analysis of events and topical music. Detailed discussions to follow in Part 2.
