Description: The recent popular uprising in Burkina Faso is a clear reflection of the legacy of Thomas Sankara and his revolution. We first speak with Ernest Harsch, author of the recently publish book, “Thomas Sankara: An African Revolutionary." Ernest Harsch is a research scholar at the Institute of African Studies at Columbia University and has worked on African issues at the United Nations for more than twenty years. He is alsothe author of "South Africa: White Rule, Black Revolt." We then speak with Aziz Fall for an update on the uprising in Burkina Faso. Aziz Fall is the coordinator of the International Campaign Justice for Sankara (ICJS) whose objective was to pressure the government of Burkina Faso to investigate the assassination of its former president, Thomas Sankara, who led a revolutionary government from 1984 to 1987.
