Program Title: The Response - April 22
Description: The federal government has announced $9-billion in added emergency supports for students who are not eligible for the CERB and who are left financially strained in a smaller summer job market. Under the Canada Emergency Student Benefit students can receive up to $1,250 a month from May to August. If you have a disability, or if you are taking care of someone else, the benefit can cover up to $1,750 per month.
The government also announced 76,000 new jobs for students and financial support for student volunteers, among other measures, on Wednesday.
RCMP have confirmed that at least 22 people died in Nova Scotia’s mass shooting over the weekend.
And inflation fell by 0.9 per cent in March, due to the pandemic, according to the latest data released by Statistics Canada.
