Description: The agri-food industry is receiving $252 million from the federal government to help farmers and producers through the pandemic.
$125 million will go towards a national Agri-Recovery Program to support producers adapt to changes in the marketplace. More than $77 million will go to food processors to support the safety of their workers. And $50 million will go towards the launch of the Surplus Food Purchase Program. And the Canadian Dairy Association's line of credit will also be extended by $200 million to buy and store more surplus dairy products.
