Program Title: NewFound Records - Ep. 607 - Echo Studio - Legacy Award
Description: MusicNL recently announced that Echo Recording Studio of St. John’s is a recipient of its Denis Parker Industry Builder Award.
The studio was the brainchild of the late Jack Winsor. From the mid 1970s to the mid ‘90s, Jack’s little studio recorded dozens of vinyl records and cassette tapes. It also recorded a multitude of commercials and jingles. Local musician luminaries like Peter Narvaez, Pat & Joe Byrne, Barry Canning, Eddie Coffey, Gordon Quinton, The Reaction, and Roger Howse recorded there. And many others did too.
For this episode, New Found Records shines a light on some of the more obscure recordings to come out of the Echo Studios.
So tune in, and treat yourself to some of the greatest Newfoundland & Labrador recordings that you’ve never heard.
