I get it regularly, like when I say that today, on "Routes & Branches & Beyond," I'm featuring some new traditional music! Somehow, the combination of "new" and "traditional" gets stuck in their comprehension process. But trad that doesn't evolve may expire. And nobody wants that. So this is another celebration of the new sounds of traditional roots. There will be rippling sinewy harps, passionate Welsh joy, undiminished creative energy from session folk-rockers who didn't get the memo about retirement, pop-inspired pan-celtic dancing, resurrectionist prog-rock and intense Tuscan spirits. With bands like Alaw, Oysterband, Jethro Tull, the Celtic Social Club, Riccardo Tesi and Ellen Gibling. Join us.
