Program Title: Routes & Branches & Beyond, show # 226
Description: One of the delights of spring is to watch the various perennials around the garden spring back - from seemingly-lifeless bare stems, to small bits of green at the base, to gradually emerging once again. The trick is knowing whether this is a perennial that I will find a use for or not... In a somewhat similar way, looking over one's shelves of CDs allows one to revisit some older selections, and note how they clearly bounce back as well - from neglect on a shelf, to delight on a CD player. This week, on another set of Spring Rambles on "Routes & Branches & Beyond," we have blistering old grass, Canadian bush swing, Ozark cosmic churning, path-clearing Irish proto-folk, blues from Middle Ontario, Scotland's unofficial anthem, shoeless polskas, the damned northern wind, slippery guitar runs, Brazilian reggae funk groove, soulful gypsy swing machines, a Saturday night prairie dance hall and reckless love (the latter two have nothing to do with each other, by the way).

Music from folks like Sweeney's Men, the Shoeless, Aleh, Night Sun, Gadjo Manouche, Ted Longbottom, Shane Cook, Flapjack, Jackson Delta, Adrian Legg and Tim Readman & Jennie Bice. Dust off a chair and join me.
