Description: The UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change uses stark and dire language in its latest report. It says, “The cumulative scientific evidence is unequivocal: Climate change is a threat to human well-being and planetary health. Any further delay in concerted anticipatory global action on adaptation and mitigation will miss a brief and rapidly closing window of opportunity to secure a livable and sustainable future for all.” It warns of “irreversible” trends that will render parts of Earth “uninhabitable.” There was brief media coverage of the IPCC report and then it disappeared. There are workable solutions to slow down and stabilize the warming thus avoiding some catastrophic impacts. But as the co-chair of the report says, “It’s now or never.”
