Content of programs on Kootenay Co-op Radio has ranged from children?s storytelling to in-depth political commentary, from issues affecting youth to seniors sharing their stories and concerns. Listeners are treated to a daily magazine of local stories through the well-known Nelson Before Nine, and the often unheard voices of the plants and creatures in the region are shared with listeners on shows like the Eco-Centric ? produced by the West Kootenay Eco-Society.

The list of spoken word programs at Kootenay Co-op Radio is extensive, and so on today?s broadcast, we will celebrate 9 of the programs that have aired during the January-April 2007
season. Many of these programs are seasoned veterans at Kootenay Co-op Radio, and some have only recently arrived. We hope that today?s broadcast will expose you to programs that you perhaps were unaware even existed. But most importantly, we hope that this broadcast will illustrate the importance spoken word programs have here in Nelson and around Kootenay Lake.
