Description: Celtic music, gospel music, and folk music walked into a bar. Which is odd, because gospel and folk should have seen it coming. Sorry - that's an obscure joke. But it is a fair evaluation of some of the mix of music on this emanation of "Routes & Branches & Beyond." There are pan-celtic supergroups, long-winded jam bands, French theatrical ballads, heart-on-the-sleeve British storytelling, accordions and petticoats, Kenyan smooth jazz, Newfoundland banker tunes and lions treading softly. Bands include Winyo, Brenda Stubbert, Jo-El Sonnier, the Outside Track, the Blind Boys of Alabama, the Young'uns, the Sweet Lowdown, the Dardanelles, Vince Collins and Jerry Garcia & Merl Saunders.
