Description: We are well into the high holy days of celtic/pagan saints - like Brigid (Ireland), David (Wales), Patrick (Ireland), George (England), and Jaxxon (patron saint of made-up names, if I have that right...). So it is right that this week on "Routes & Branches & Beyond" I start a 3-week series on Saints. Just saints. Not "saints and sinners" - this is a folkish show, so sinners get lots of coverage as it is. So just Saints.
I have ticklish mazurkas, Townie waltzes, smashing arrivals, reeling accordions, Acadia-Cajun gumbo, critiques of over-imbibing audience members, cemetery swing, whistles and bodhrans in honour of the Irish, stark-ravin' fiddles, blues on the ranch and Midwestern Scottish stagger. Whatever your beliefs, join me.
